Consultation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Community feedback is integral to the project<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Public consultation is a crucial component of the pre-application process for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs). We are committed to early and continuous engagement to ensure that the development of our proposals for the Jubilee Energy Hub is informed and shaped by community input. Local communities, residents, and councils play a vital role in this process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The design of the proposed development is a dynamic process that evolves through community input. We\u2019re planning two stages of community consultation to ensure your feedback is woven into every aspect of our project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Stage 1: Initial Non-Statutory Consultation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The initial non-statutory consultation stage is still to commence, and in due course we publish the start date for any consultation process here. The process will run for 6 weeks. During this time, we are presenting our early-stage proposals for the Jubilee Energy Hub and are seeking your feedback on our plans. Stakeholder input, alongside ongoing studies and surveys, will shape and refine our proposals. Our commitment is to engage with local communities regarding our initial plans during this Stage 1 consultation, to offer you the opportunity to share your perspectives and feedback with us at an early\u00a0stage in the development process.\u00a0See more information on Stage 1,\u00a0including details on the in-person\u00a0and digital consultation activities we have planned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stage 2: Statutory Consultation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Further to developing more detailed proposals for the project, we will then carry out a second stage of\u00a0consultation (\u2018Stage 2\u2019). This will be a statutory stage of consultation as is required by the Development Consent Order process. We expect to carry out this second stage of consultation in XXXXX. This statutory stage is required for NSIP applications and will focus on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • The location of equipment for the solar park and battery storage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    • The cable connection between the various areas of the development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

      • Proposed mitigation and enhancement measures for impacts during construction and operation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

        Feedback from this stage, combined with ongoing assessment findings, will help finalise our detailed plans for submission to the Planning Inspectorate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        The second stage of consultation will likely be the last time we consult on our proposals for the Jubilee Energy Hub before submission. But don\u2019t worry, if the application goes forward for review,you\u2019ll have the chance to register your interest with the Planning Inspectorate, who will then keep you in the loop about our application\u2019s status and how you can continue to have your say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Creating benefits for the community<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

        In addition to supporting the UK on a national level by creating low-cost, renewable energy, we believe those communities closest to the proposed development should benefit from it \u2013 with these communities being best placed to recommend what they believe a \u2018community benefit\u2019 should be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        We are committed to working with local communities to identify and define community benefits. In addition, we are exploring the possibility of generating local job opportunities during the construction and operational phase of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        We are keen to hear your suggestions on local schemes and projects that we could support or implement to benefit the communities closest to the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
